Best Dog Grooming Software (2026)
Updated Oct 23, 2026 · Independent guide · Not sponsored
If you groom dogs for a living, the right software pays for itself in fewer no-shows and less time on the phone. This guide compares the grooming-specific tools in our directory using what each company publishes on its own site. We haven't hands-on tested them, and none of them paid to be here.
Pricing below was checked on each vendor's own pricing page on Oct 23, 2026. Prices change, so confirm before you buy.
Quick picks
- Tightest budget, solo groomer: GroomBoard lists plans at $9, $19 and $39 a month with a 7-day free trial.
- One flat price for a growing shop: June lists one $69/month plan with unlimited staff.
- Mobile groomers who live by the route: Groomer.io is $79/month per storefront or van and is built around routing, en-route texts and calls.
- Lots of texting: Teddy lists Budget at $49, Core at $99 and Plus at $199 per month per location, and advertises unlimited texts on every plan.
- Grooming plus boarding or daycare: look at MoeGo, DaySmart Pet or Gingr, which all cover more than one service line.
What to compare before you switch
- How texting is billed. Reminder texts are where cheap plans get expensive. Check whether texts are unlimited, bundled, or sold in packs.
- Seats. Some plans price per user, per location or per van. If you'll add a second groomer or van this year, price that version now.
- Mobile features. If you drive a van, you want route mapping and "on my way" messages. Groomer.io and MoeGo both describe mobile features on their sites.
- Deposits and no-show fees. Card-on-file and deposits are the most direct fix for no-shows.
- Getting your data in and out. Ask whether they'll import your clients and pets, and whether you can export everything as a file later.
The options, briefly
MoeGo sells all-in-one software for grooming salons, mobile groomers, boarding and daycare; its pricing page asks you to pick your business type. DaySmart Pet (formerly 123Pet) lists tiers from $29 to $199 a month when you use DaySmart Payments, or $39 to $219 without. Groomsoft is one of the longest-running grooming programs, with shop and mobile plans. GrooMore offers salon and mobile grooming software with online booking and a waitlist. Groomer.io, GroomBoard, June and Teddy are covered in the quick picks above.
General booking apps like Square Appointments (free plan for one location) and Booksy Biz work in a pinch, but they don't keep pet profiles, vaccine records or breed notes.
Bottom line
Solo and on a budget: start with a low-cost plan and a free trial using your real client list. Mobile: put routing first. Running grooming with boarding or daycare: pick a multi-service platform so you only keep one set of records. Whatever you choose, run a real Tuesday's appointments through the free trial before you commit.
